(Some parents and children might well remember Alaugh the giraffe constructed 3 years ago and placed in Facey's "Giraffeteria" as a similar fundraiser).&nbsp; &nbsp;Stella will be up May 14 - June 15. &nbsp;All donations 'fed' to Stella and a portion of the sale of the magazines will go to CHES<strong><em>. </em></strong>&nbsp;During the week of May 22-25, groups of visiting elementary students will be treated to: a reading and visual display of the poem; a visit to Stella to admire and 'feed' her; treats (home-made animal-shaped cookies and juice) and games.&nbsp; At press time, over 225 children from 5 EIPS schools have been booked to visit Stella.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;Members of the public are welcome during the day to come and visit Stella.&nbsp; Magazines will be available for sale at the office, and of course, Stella will be available for 'feeding'.&nbsp;</p> <p>CHES: &nbsp;Canadian Harambee Education Society, based in New Westminster BC, 100% of donations go to scholarships for girls in Kenya and Tanzania to stay in school beyond the compulsory age (14).&nbsp; To date, Facey has sponsored a total of 8 girls.</p> http://www.bevfacey.ca/index.php?page=215#a9320 http://www.bevfacey.ca/index.php?page=215#a9320 Wed, 16 May 2012 14:45:54 -0400 <p><a href="../../files/4/PLANT%20SALE%202.pdf" target="_blank">Plant Sale Brochure</a></p> <p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; April showers bring May flowers, and true to form everything in the greenhouse is bursting with color.&nbsp; The Horticulture 20 and 30 students can be very proud of this year's crop.&nbsp; There is the old favorites - Proven Winners petunias, million bells, bacopa, and &nbsp;begonias to tempt you with a few.&nbsp; Four varieties of decorative grasses to add interest..&nbsp;&nbsp; But it's the diversity and health of the handed seeded crop that will impress you. On <strong>May 25</strong> from 7pm to 7am a group of dedicated student-athletes will be walking to raise funds for cancer prevention. Unfortunately during my tenure as Head Coach I have been witness to Facey families experiencing the anxiety, pain and loss associated with cancer. We need YOUR help!</p> <p>The <strong>Relay For Life</strong> is more than just a fundraiser. It is an opportunity to get together with family and friends and celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back in the hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease.
